COVID-19: High School Student Living Director's Letter Home

PDF Version [27.6 K]

Dear Santa Fe Indian School Families,

First and foremost, our prayers and support go out to our Native American and urban communities to continue to stay strong, healthy, and resilient.  Our priority at this time is to continue to support the health and wellbeing of our students, parents, and communities. The Student Living Staff are fully committed to working with your students positively by forms of daily communication via email, phone calls, and online platforms.

Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic is affecting all our families, our communities, and our way of life in many ways. During this time, we continue to make decisions to support students while they are in their home communities due to health restrictions.

SFIS continues to be a closed campus, therefore students and families await further information regarding retrieval of personal belongings in residential programs. Please be patient as we continue to work on a pick-up process that adheres to directives related to State of New Mexico social distancing.

Our residential staff live and grow with your students throughout the school year and continue to be here to support all SFIS families.  We have an amazing community of committed staff members across all programs at SFIS. We certainly miss all our students and miss seeing them here, in their home away from home. As we go forward, we’ll keep families updated and communicate respectively.

If you have any questions please contact Brandie Chavez (505) 490-5990, Delilah Crespin (505) 699-8560, Stephanie Garcia (505) 500-2314.

Sincerely,

Brandie Chavez, High School Student Living Director
