IT Coordinator

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, a technology related area, Business Administration, or other field of study, with significant relevant IT work experience.
• Four (4) years of supervisory experience in an IT related field. Educational setting with a master’s degree in an IT related field, preferred. Or a combination of education and experience to equal eight (8) years.
• Experience working with Native American students, and Native American or Tribal entities preferred.
• Must possess a valid NM Driver’s License.
• Must complete and successfully pass a complete background investigation, including FBI fingerprint check.; U.S. Citizenship is required.

 

Description:

The IT Department Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of the IT Department workflow, immediate supervision of employees and management of the IT office.  The coordinator is also responsible for all equipment and services provided and must have the technical capacity to advise and oversee the work of Network and System Administrators as well as Network and Mobile Device Technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Provide campus-wide help desk technical services using remote desktop management utilities.

  •            Ability to use SQL scripting for a wide range of IT operations to include the development of automated workflows.
  •            Provide remote management services for IT based special systems to include surveillance, and emergency response systems.
  •            Use of PowerShell scripts for automated user, computer account creation, and printer management.

 Manage and provide technical assistance for both wireless phone services and mobile phones.

  •            Work with Network Administrators in developing and maintaining the overall IT campus infrastructure architecture.
  •            Work with Network/ System Administrators and Computer and Network Technicians on various projects as needed.
  •            Ability to create and maintain up-to-date campus-wide network diagrams, operations manuals, technical drawings, and other departmental documentation – act as departmental archivist.
  •            Prepare, submit, and manage annual E-Rate applications and manage measures of compliance.
  •            Assist in the deployment of new computers and devices.

Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities:

  •    Comply with all Board of Trustees policies and administrative regulations.
  •    Supervise IT Department Staff.
  •    Manage daily workflow by planning, assign, and directing work.
  •    Coordinate all new IT rollouts, initiatives, and projects.
  •    Assist in conducting performance evaluations for IT Staff in consultation with the Technology Director.
  •    Assist staff with Professional Development Plans in consultation with the Technology Director.
  •    Address employee disciplinary concerns in consultation with the Technology Director.
  •    Attend supervisor’s meetings and other meetings as required by the Chief Technology Director.
  •    Participate in trainings to promote effective leadership and program management.

Financial/ Office Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  •           Directly manage all aspects of departmental finances including related paperwork.
  •           Use Ivisions software for department purchasing, and employee personnel action requests.
  •           Perform duties of an IT Department office manager.
  •           Manage time recording for IT Department Staff to meet bi-weekly pay dates.
  •           Maintain accurate inventory of all significant IT-related equipment.
