Dear Middle School Parents and Students,
On behalf of the Middle School staff at Santa Fe Indian School, I am excited to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year! We have been working to plan for a safe opening of school and to implement best practices to mitigate the risks associated with Covid-19. Our classrooms have been modified to increase social distancing, signage has been installed throughout the building to guide students, and our schedule has been modified to allow for mask breaks, hand washing, and opportunities to access outdoor learning spaces.
Before the beginning of school please review the re-entry plan and other important information provided on our SFIS website homepage under news. You can also find the Students Rights & Responsibilities Handbook (SR&R) on the website that has information regarding academic procedures and the school’s dress code.
This year we will be having a Student Orientation and Parent Orientation Sessions beginning on Friday, August 15th . We will also be posting the MS school supply lists on the SFIS website on Thursday, August 5th. All students will be required to bring their Chromebooks and the chargers everyday to school.
We will continue to implement initiatives to promote teaching and learning, and to engage all our stakeholders in the process of educating our students to positively impact student performance in every content area, and in their overall academic growth and development.
I encourage you to stay connected with us throughout the year through the various lines of communication:
Our Middle School staff looks forward to meeting our new incoming 7th graders and reconnect with our returning 8th graders. It is going to be an amazing year!
Sincerely, Paula Salazar, MS Principal & MS Student Living Director
