New Mexico Girls XC Countdown: #11 Santa Fe Indian School

After missing out on the 2020 season, Santa Fe Indian School bounced back to the top of 3A en route to a 3rd place finish at the 2021 state championships. They return as the #11 ranked team on our New Mexico Cross Country Countdown with a high ceiling as they return all runners from the state meet including Destiny Marquez (7th in 2021), and Destiny Chino (8th in 2021). Two All-State runners to lead Santa Fe Indian will be vital as they seek to take on powerhouse Cottonwood Classical. Other state runners include Kendra Emery (36th in 2021), Danielle Smith (45th in 2021), Melena Chama (47th in 2021), Nalani Padilla (60th in 2021),  and Kaydence Riley (64th in 2021). This team is in an abundance of talent that may see newcomers like Rayann Concho contributing to the scoring this fall. Santa Fe Indian returns a stacked roster to make them a strong contender to land on the podium once more in 2022 and perhaps even go toe-to-toe with Cottonwood Classical for the crown of 3A.
