COVID-19: Letter to Families on Student Belongings

PDF Version [331.9 K]

Dear Parents/Guardians,

At Santa Fe Indian School your students’ safety and well-being is our priority. Due to the recent closure of SFIS campus in response to COVID-19 Pandemic, Student Living programs have been working to get your student’s personal belongings to them.  To adhere to NM State directives of stay- at- home orders, social distancing, and health precautions SFIS has a process to move forward.

With the help of SFIS Transportation Department, Student Living staff in both HS and MS student living programs will begin to deliver student belongings to their home communities during the week of May 18th.  Student living staff members will contact Parents/Guardians of those students who have items remaining in the student living program to communicate drop off locations in communities.

Delivery process to communities within 100-mile radius:

  1. Prior to delivery, families shall be notified via phone call by Student Living staff.
  2. SFIS staff will be required to wear protective masks/gloves to support the health and safety of the community.

Delivery process to communities 100 miles or further:

For students who live over 100 miles or further from SFIS, belongings will be mailed to them.  Student Living Staff will contact Parents/Guardians to update/verify mailing addresses.  Staff will also provide information on when items get mailed.

We appreciate your patience during these challenging times. We wish all of you good health, strong well-being, and continued prayers.

For more information please contact Ms. Brandie Chavez, High School SL Director (505) 490-5990, or Mrs. Paula Chavez-Salazar Middle School Principal/MSSL Director (505) 690-0361.

Sincerely,

 Brandie Chavez        and        Paula Chavez-Salazar
