COVID-19: Chromebooks/PC Delivery Today

COVID-19: Virtual Classrooms and Extended Learning
SFIS student devices being delivered this morning, 3/18/20, to all of 19 Pueblos and certain urban locations. All SFIS students that indicated that they will need a SFIS-issued device will receive a Chromebook for distance learning. Students in Digital Video Editing, AutoCad, and Computer Science will receive PC laptops.
All SFIS students use Google Classroom to receive and submit assignments as well as to communicate with teachers. SFIS teachers can also video-conferencing through Zoom or Google Meets and the entire class can meet on-line. We are excited to see the creative use of technology for teaching and learning while away from campus.
We understand that not all students and staff have Internet Access. Many tribes have made great strides to provide broadband Internet in the communities and the tribal libraries are best place to connect in many communities. Additionally, some ISPS are extending low income programs to help in this difficult time. Others are removing data caps for customers. Please check back for updates on Internet Access options.

All delivery routes will leave SFIS before noon, Wednesday, 3/18/20. Students should check Google Classroom to find your name and location. Can’t access Google Classroom? Call Ms. Love at (505) 795-0611.
