Dear SFIS Community,
I am writing to communicate a change in our school calendar. Our All Souls break is scheduled for October 30th through November 3rd. The dorms will remain closed November 4-6 with all Students in Virtual Learning November 4 & 5. All students will attend school virtually on November 4 and 5. Dorms will reopen on November 7th at 4:00 pm. Further information will be provided by the academic programs regarding synchronous or asynchronous attendance.
I am asking that as we prepare for our loved ones return that we are reminded of the blessings we have received. Students, I encourage you to participate and engage in learning at home: Speak your language, take part in activities you are allowed to participate in, and spend time with family and friends. Put your cell phones and technology away and embrace your family and community during this time.
Lastly, please self monitor and be aware of any COVID-related symptoms or exposures before returning to school. We need to continue to follow our Tribal ordinances and restrictions as they are in place to protect us.
Before returning to school, screen yourself using the following questions and use the Guidance Trees in the Re-Entry Plan to determine if you can return to campus.
Also, I strongly encourage you to get tested prior to returning on campus.
We have also updated the SY21-22 Re-Entry Plan and Guidance Trees; key updates are included in the table below. You can find the updated versions of these documents on the SFIS Re-Entry Resource Center on our website: https://tinyurl.com/kn2m8ws
