9th Grade Orientation

The Santa Fe Indian School’s Freshman Learning Community is an initiative that focuses on providing all students with a successful transition to high school. With this priority, our 9th grade team has designed a fun and exciting freshmen summer orientation called Fresh Start. The three-day orientation for all 9thgrade students will:

·         Introduce students to the academic faculty, staff, and high school academic expectations;

·         Conduct team building activities to foster friendship and support among the students in the class of 2026;

·         Introduce students to residential dorm life, staff, and expectations;

·         And provide a special parent orientation on Saturday, July 30th.

Parents will need to arrive with their students to SFIS on Wednesday, July 27th between 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM to complete a COVID test and check-in at the dorms. A packet with the test and instructions will be given to the parents at the security gate when you arrive. Even if your child will be a day student in the fall, all 9th grade students are required to attend and stay in the dorms for this event. See the back of this letter for information on what to bring for the dorms.

Parents must return on Saturday, July 30th at 8:30 AM for a parent orientation at the Everett F. Chavez Pueblo Pavilion and will pick up their students by 12:00 PM after the parent orientation.

The 9th grade team and staff are excited to meet the new h students. Enjoy the summer and see you on July 27, 2022.
