1:1 Initiative - Senior Chromebooks

HS Academics has started to issue Chromebooks to the seniors as of Thursday, February 14, 2019. These devices are intended to be used by the students across subject areas, at night in the dorm, or at home back in the communities.  We hope that students will carry them to classes charged and ready for use. As SFIS devices, the Internet use is monitored and filtered per SFIS Internet Safety contract guidelines. The use of a SFIS Chromebook is not mandatory, however, with the growing adoption of Google Classroom in many subject areas, the expectation to have access to assignments and e-mail day and night, will only grow.

We hope that the Senior class and parents, will provide feedback as to the experience with this 1:1 pilot to  help the school improve the1:1  effort as the younger grades - and eventually all SFIS students - receive a device of their own.

If you are a senior and need to pick up your device, please:

1. Download and complete the form. A parent signature is required. (Click here to download the form)
2. Go to Cafeteria, on Tuesday, 2/19/2019 during lunch and pick up the Chromebook

OR, if you miss the the Cafeteria pick-up:

1. Download and complete the form. A parent signature is required. (Click here to download the form)
2. E-mail helpdesk@sfis.k12.nm.us, and set up a time with the IT Department.

Please remember that the color of the vinyl sticker can be replaced by contacting Brian Valinski in the library.

Thank you, and enjoy the device!
