QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Oh, Christmas isn't just a day. It's a frame of mind!"

Kris Kringle, Miracle on 34th Street

WORD OF THE DAY

hogmadog | hog-muh-dog

noun

A hogmadog (or hogamadog) is a wonderfully obscure term for a large ball of snow, made by rolling a smaller snowball around it until it grows huge, often used as the base of a snowman or a giant, formidable snowball. While primarily a weather/winter word, its playful sound also makes it a fun, whimsical term for festive gatherings or even a scarecrow in older dialect, linked to the word dodman.
