Technology Use in a Post-Pandemic Learning Environment
With SFIS fully transitioned back to in-person learning, we continue to embrace the digital tools and skills gained during the pandemic. The SFIS IT Department encourages students and staff to build upon this foundation by continuing to explore innovative ways to learn, teach, and collaborate using technology.
Student Technology Access:
While the primary mode of instruction is now in-person, students continue to have access to devices as needed to support their academic success. Google Chromebooks or Windows PCs are available for students enrolled in technology-intensive courses such as Computer Science, AutoCAD, or Video Editing. Google Classroom remains our primary learning management system, providing a centralized space for assignments, resources, and communication.
Technology Support for Staff:
Staff are equipped with Chromebooks and Windows PCs to support instruction, planning, and administrative work. Tools such as Google Meet and Zoom continue to be used for virtual meetings and professional development opportunities. The IT Department also supports ongoing digital skill development through access to self-paced technology tutorials and resources.
