What does the SFIS application process entail?

Applicants start an online application available on the SFIS website. Students with applications on file will be invited to attend an Admissions Session in January or February. Attendance at the Admissions Session is mandatory for all applicants though consideration to complete the written questionnaire by Zoom may be considered for applicant's living outside of the State of New Mexico. Applicants must complete the application information and upload required documents into the application by the closing date. Applications and documentation received after the closing date will not be considered and will result in an incomplete application. Incomplete applications will not be eligible to be reviewed for admission. Following the closing date, the Admissions Committee will review complete applications and make admission decisions in March. Applicants will be notified of their admissions decision by email in April.

What is the Admissions Session?

The Admissions Session provides an opportunity for applicants to visit our campus, meet our staff, and to complete a written questionnaire that is required of all applicants. The written questionnaire is utilized by the Admissions Committee to learn about the applicant and the contributions they can bring to our community at the Santa Fe Indian School. Applicants are required to attend in-person at the SFIS Campus.

The Admissions Session consists of the following:

  • Welcome by School Leaders for Attendees
  • Admissions Application Assistance for Parents/Guardians
  • Written questionnaire for Applicants: Applicants will hand-write on a number of topics and questions that help the Admissions Committee learn about who they are and allows for an applicant to express personal interest in SFIS.
  • Optional: Tour of the Santa Fe Indian School

When are Admission Exams scheduled and do I have to RSVP?
