2 Hour Bus Delay Schedule

Inclement Weather- Santa Fe Indian School Delays and Closures

Snow Day Procedures. The inclement weather procedure is unique because of our residential program. Please remember that we do not follow public school delays.

SFIS will announce delays/clsoings the evening before or by the latest  6: 00 a.m. the morning of the storm. As weather conditions are monitored throughout the day further adjustments may occur. Generally, the "Snow Day" options are as follows:

• 2-Hour Delay Bus Schedule. Classes follow the normal daily schedule.  Day students must eat breakfast at home. 
• Early Dismissal. If bad weather begins after studetn are already at school, a decision may be made to release the bus students early. Messenger will be utilized. 

We will communicate delays/closings by posting on local television stations, send email/text messages from the Messenger system, and by pre-recording messages on the SFIS Safety Line 

• TV Stations: Channel 4 (KOB), Channel 7 (KOAT), Channel 13 (KRQE)
• SFIS Safety Line:  You may call (505) 989-6399 to listen to a recorded message. 
• Messenger:  The system will send a text message and/or email according to your contact preferences in the NASIS student information system. If you woul dlike to change your contact settings, log-in to the NASIS Parent Portal and request a demographic update.
