Santa Fe Indian School

Student Life

Ski Club

Each winter, the Santa Fe Indian School Ski Club introduces dozens of students to the joys of skiing and snowboarding. Led by sponsors Kate Sallah, Cynthia Salvatierra, and Damian Wierzbicki, the club makes two to three trips to Ski Santa Fe each season. The resort is situated 3,000 vertical feet above town and approximately 45 minutes from school, at the end of highway 475. Ski Santa Fe offers a wonderful mix of beginner, intermediate, and expert terrain, not to mention unparalleled views of the surrounding mountains and mesas.

The club is open to all students. Those who lack experience are encouraged to join, as Ski Santa Fe offers rental equipment and lessons from competent and compassionate instructors. The club is open to experienced skiers and riders as well, and students are encouraged to bring their own gear, grab their friends, and spend the day exploring the mountain.

Students and sponsors make a quick stop for photos at the Aspen Vista Trailhead on the way up to the resort.
