SFIS Convocation Series

This year, SFIS will offer a monthly school-wide session based on the Ten Elements as part of the Pueblo Convocation Series. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend.  Parents that do attend will earn hours toward the 10 volunteer hours.   Information on the September and October Series is below. Information for future Pueblo Convocation Series sessions will be shared through out the school year.

Topic: Yazzie v. New Mexico - How does this case help us to understand the unique education responsibilities schools have for Native American students?

• 8:30 in PPWC: Facilitated student panel with community experts.
• 9:30 in MS/HS Classrooms: Student activity to identify successful, challenging, and ideal schooling.

Pueblo Convocation Series for October (Part of SFIS Feast Day Celebration)

Topic: History, Advocacy, and Partnership in Resistance and Reconciliation
Date: Monday October 8, 2018
Time: 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM

• 8:30 in PPWC: Facilitated student panel with community experts.
• 9:30: Student Activity is participation in SFIS Feast Day. Each student will submit a photograph from the Feast that demonstrates an aspect of cultural preservation.
