During times of COVID-19, teaching and learning has gone digital - whether we like it or not, or feel prepared for it or not. The SFIS IT Department hopes that our students and staff will positively embrace the opportunity to try new things, develop new skills, and explore new ways to communicate.

Remote Learning: Students in need are issued a Google Chromebook or Windows PC. PC laptops have been given to students in dual enrollment Computer Science, AutoCad, or Video Editing classes. SFIS Online on the Google Classroom platform is the primary learning management system. Google Meet and Zoom can be used for video-conferencing between a student and a teacher, or for a group of students.

Remote Working: Staff have also be issued Chromebooks and Windows PCs.  Administrative staff working remotely utilize Zoom for on-line meetings. The Google Classroom is in full and active use with students submitting homework. Staff at-home-devices  assist remote work and the opportunity to develop personal technology skills through self-paced tutorials.
